Welcome to Month 6 for the Star In The West BOM Quilt-Along, brought to you by Swan Amity Studios and Gorram Quilts!
We are very excited to be working with our sponsor, American Made Brand fabrics, for this QAL. AMB make beautiful solid fabrics that are rich in color and so soft. The fabric is sourced and manufactured in the United States. Coincidentally, they’re also located in Seattle. They will be providing a few prizes throughout the year, but more will be revealed later.
Month 6’s pattern will be emailed out later this morning. If you don’t receive it, please check your junk folder and then send us an email or comment below, and we’ll investigate.
This month involves a lot of HSTs. I love putting on some music and zoning out while sewing HSTs, and this is the perfect month to do that. Take care when assembling your snakes since they face opposite directions. In the first version of this pattern, Monsoon Sunset, this block was named Snakes in the Grass and I will always see snakes when I look at them.
Here is one of my snakes, in the AMB solids.
After you make your snakes, attach it onto the bottom of your quilt.
We have a Flick group that you are welcome to join and share your progress.
Also, if you post on social media, please use #StarInTheWestQuilt.
If you haven’t signed up yet, you still can through Swan Amity’s website. It’s only $24 for the whole year.
We’re looking forward to seeing your evergrowing quilt. Please let us know if you have any questions. Happy quilting!
